Follow-Up Info

What to expect during your visits with us

Our Follow Up Process

Full Behavior Consultation with Veterinarian and Trainer (or two vets) 90-120 minutes.

After the Consultation: We will send you the full write up, links, and handouts,  and we are available for email or phone call questions for 3 months. We will also communicate with your primary vet. Home visits and remote options are available at the discretion of The Behavior Clinic.

*Please note  there are some behavioral cases that require more extensive support such as leash walking training sessions, basket muzzle set up, or complicated pharmaceutical regimens.  If these are necessary within the first 3 months,  they will be charged accordingly. (See Fee Structure below.)

The Steps

1. 3-6 Months after our initial Behavior Consultation:

An in person follow up appointment should be scheduled with Dr. Cutler.  Please plan on 30-90 minutes with a price based on the length of time and if additional veterinarians or trainers are in attendance.

2. 6 Months after our Initial Behavior Consultation:

Subsequent follow ups will be recommended on a case by case by case basis. Pets prescribed behavioral medication by Dr. Cutler will need to be seen twice annually.

Structure

  • Phone calls of 10 minutes or less are not charged as long as your pet is on schedule with appointments.  Dr. Cutler will try to answer email questions, but in some cases, especially with complicated medications, a phone call is best.
  • Scheduled phone calls of 10 minutes or longer, additional recheck visits, and training sessions are priced.
  • Phone calls or in-person consults with veterinarian.

“Our family is delighted with the extraordinary care our 7-year old dog Mimi receives from At Home Vet Care. Entlebucher Mountain Dogs are not very common in the US, yet Dr. Cutler took the time to learn everything she could about the breed before her first visit at a few weeks old. Her caring and kind demeanor, as well as the fact that she comes to your house, instantly puts your pet at ease. In fact, Mimi is thrilled every time Dr. Cutler rings our doorbell!”
